HideDid you get it right?
Hi again Lawrence,
2. You're correct, "lại" in this sentence plays as a particle to highlight the fact that the shirt does not match his tie, so it is not translated as "again" in this sentence. The closest translation for this phase 'nhưng nó lại không hợp với...' should be "but then it does not match...." as "then" also plays as a particle in this translation to highlight the fact I just mentioned.
Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Sincerely,
Khanh

Hi Lawrence,
Thank you for your questions! To answer them:
1. 'chị thấy cái áo nào hơn' means "which shirt do you think is better?". This question is from the man as he just asked the woman for her input, not for her reference. Also, because this conversation is between the woman (seller) and the man (buyer) so the man would not ask the woman which shirt she likes more as it's not for her, it's for him.
(to be continue)
Hey, I'm a bit confused about 2 things:
1. He says 'chị thấy cái ào nào hơn', which I would translate to 'you think which shirt more'. Why doesn't he need to say thích? As in 'chị thích cái ào nào hơn'.
2. Can you explain the lại in 'nhưng nó lại không hợp với...'. I get very confused with lại because I translate it to 'again', but it wouldn't fit as 'again' in this sentence.
Thanks!
