HideXin chào listeners! How is the weather today? Is it raining?
Hi Ben,
The correct translation for “weather” is “thời tiết”, but in daily life, Vietnamese people sometimes say “khí hậu” (which sounds like “hee ho” as you mentioned)- which means “climate”. Though “weather” and “climate” are two different words with two different meanings in English but it sometimes can be mix-used to refer to weather in Vietnamese. Is it clear to you? Please let us know if you have further questions!
Thank you!

Hello
When I listen to the review track, the translation for the word "weather" seems to be different ?
Is this another word for weather ? It sounds something like "hee ho" ...
Thanks
Thank you, your explanation.was excellent.
Hi Aidriano,
In this case, the order of "thời tiết" and (noun of time) - such as: "ngày mai" will not change the main meaning. You can see small difference in grammar as following explanation.
- "Thời tiết ngày mai sẽ thế nào?" literally means: What will tomorrow's weather be like?
So, "thời tiết ngày mai" is a phrase and is the subject.
- "Ngày mai, thời tiết sẽ thế nào?" literally means: Tomorrow, what will the weather be like?
So, "ngày mai" is used as phrase of time, followed by "," and only "thời tiết" is the subject of the sentence.
Both sentences are often used in daily conversation.
The sentence "Ngày mai, thời tiết thế nào?" is acceptable and it will sound better if you put "sẽ" after "thời tiết".
Have a great day,
Huyen

Thanks

I read your reply without even having to check anything! This makes me very happy
It says "Today in Vietnam, it's cloudy but not raining" right?
Hẹn gặp lại,

Chào Nick,
Your sentences are perfect.
Here is my answer to your question:
Hôm nay ở Việt Nam trời âm u nhưng không mưa.
Do you understand my sentence?
Let me know you answer next time, ok?
