HideHello listeners! Mแบฅy giแป bฦฐu ฤiแปn mแป cแปญa? Can you answer me in Vietnamese?
Chร o Nick,
Your sentence is fine but I don't get what "nhแปฏng ngฦฐแปi thรญch hแปฃp" means.
Did you mean that you want to watch romantic movies with appropriate people?"

Chร o Giang,
Cแบฃm ฦกn nhiแปu lแบฏm! Bรขy giแป, tรดi hiแปu tแปt hฦกn.
So you like comedy and action movies best? Tรดi thรญch phim hร i vร phim hร nh ฤแปng, nhฦฐng tรดi cลฉng thรญch phim lรฃng mแบกn vแปi nhแปฏng ngฦฐแปi thรญch hแปฃp  (I'm sure this is all kinds of wrong, so please correct me )

Chร o Nick,
"Bแบกn lร m rแบฅt tแปt" is fine. If you want to emphasize "did" (you did very well), you can add "ฤรฃ" to mention the past: "Bแบกn ฤรฃ lร m rแบฅt tแปt."
About your movie question, let me correct it as follows:
Bแบกn thรญch loแบกi phim gรฌ? (What kind of movies do you like?
My answer is: Tรดi thรญch phim hร i vร phim hร nh ฤแปng. Cรฒn bแบกn thรฌ sao?

Chร o Giang,
Well, now I know how to say "go shopping" and "go to movies with friends"
Loแบกi phim lร thรญch cแปงa bแบกn?
Would I translate "bแบกn lร m rแบฅt tแปt" as "you're doing very well" or "you did very well"?

Chร o Nick,
Vร o cuแปi tuแบงn, tรดi thรญch ฤi mua sแบฏm vร ฤi xem phim vแปi bแบกn bรจ.
Your sentence: "Vร o cuแปi tuแบงn, tรดi muแปn viแบฟt bร i hรกt vร ghรฉ thฤm vแปi bแบกn bรจ cแปงa tรดi." is great. The only small thing is you don't need to say "vแปi", "ghรฉ thฤm bแบกn bรจ cแปงa tรดi" is enough. That's it. The remaining is awesome.
Nick, bแบกn lร m rแบฅt tแปt.

Chร o Giang,
Oh, I see. Thanks for clarifying! So you like pink? If I recall, the card I sent you had pink, but I can't quite remember.
Tรดi thรญch mร u xanh da trแปi ...it reminds me of the ocean. Tรดi cลฉng thรญch mร u xanh lรก cรขy because I love the forest
I know I'm cheating by combining English with Vietnamese, but I don't know how to say the whole thing in Vietnamese yet
You're really making me work for the second part, but I really want to talk to you so here goes nothing:
Vร o cuแปi tuแบงn, tรดi muแปn viแบฟt bร i hรกt vร ghรฉ thฤm vแปi bแบกn bรจ cแปงa tรดi. I realize this is pretty general but I don't know how to begin saying all the things included in "visit with my friends" yet
Ok, Giang, your turn: Bแบกn thรญch lร m gรฌ vร o cuแปi tuแบงn?
Don't keep me waiting now. This is fun
Hแบนn gแบทp lแบกi,

Chร o Nick,
The sentence โMร u sแบฏc ฦฐa thรญch cแปงa bแบกn lร gรฌ?โ is correct. But to make it more simple, you can say: "Bแบกn thรญch mร u gรฌ?" (Which color do you like?). This question is more commonly used in Vietnamese. My answer is: "Tรดi thรญch mร u hแปng". Do you know what color is "mร u hแปng"?
To ask "What do you like to do?" you can simply say: "Bแบกn thรญch lร m gรฌ?" or "Sแป thรญch cแปงa bแบกn lร gรฌ?" (What are your hobbies?). "Sแป thรญch" means "hobby".
So, Nick, bแบกn thรญch lร m gรฌ vร o cuแปi tuแบงn?
Can you answer this in Vietnamese?

Chร o Giang,
Of course I want to try to talk with you more in Vietnamese  I feel like I'm missing a few important pieces of conversation though. For example, if I want to ask what your favorite something (like color, or movie, or whatever) is, how do I say it?
The translator says "what is your favorite color?" is "mร u sแบฏc ฦฐa thรญch cแปงa bแบกn lร gรฌ?" Is this correct? I know "cแปงa bแบกn" is "your" and "lร gรฌ" is like "what is". It says "mร u sแบฏc" is "color" and "ฦฐa thรญch" is "favorite" but it seems like it's often inaccurate. I know "thรญch" is "to like/love" so maybe that part makes sense.
What about if I want to say "What do you like to do?" I keep trying to figure it out with the translator, but I'm not having much luck :disappointed:
I feel like I know lots of words but still need help putting them all together into real sentences I want to say.

Chร o Nick,
Wow, 400 words are amazing.
If you can use them to write questions or talk with me in Vietnamese, that would be awesome.
Don't you want to try it next time?

Chร o Giang,
Agreed. Though I still have much to learn, I'm regularly surprised when I practice my flash cards at how much I remember. I think I probably know at least 400 Vietnamese words and their English equivalents now and that's only with having maybe an hour a day to study.
