I know I look very formal today, right?

But it's relevant to the topic.

So today, I'm going to share with you some resume-related vocabulary

so that you know how to use these words when writing a resume.

So let's get started.

So resume in Vietnamese, we say

Hồ sơ xin việc

Hồ sơ xin việc is a resume or a CV or like a resume to apply for a job.

So hồ sơ xin việc

In sentence, đặt câu

Bạn cần chuẩn bị hồ sơ để đi xin việc

means you need to prepare a resume to apply for a job.

So you see here, we don't say

Bạn cần chuẩn bị hồ sơ xin việc để đi xin việc

No, it's too long and it's repeated.

So instead, we skip one xin việc word

and we just say

Bạn cần chuẩn bị hồ sơ để đi xin việc

You need to prepare a resume to apply for a job.

Now, next one, there are like a few components in your resume.

So components in Vietnamese, we say

Yếu tố or thành phần

That means like a part of your resume, right?

So the first one, the most important one we need to share is

Thông tin cá nhân

means personal information

Thông tin cá nhân

So in thông tin cá nhân, we need to share

Tên

Ngày tháng năm sinh

Or địa chỉ

Address and

Số điện thoại

means telephone number

So aside from địa chỉ, they also can use

Nơi ở hiện tại

Nơi ở hiện tại means

current living place or current address

or like where you currently live

Nơi ở hiện tại

Right, so those are some basic things

that you need to share as personal information

So the second component that is usually in your resume is

Kinh nghiệp làm việc

Work experience

You'll be having like 1 year experience or 2 years experience

So in Vietnamese, we say

Một năm kinh nghiệp

Một năm kinh nghiệp means 1 year experience

and the same with 2 years

Hai năm kinh nghiệp

2 years experience

Đặt câu

Tôi có 5 năm kinh nghiệp quản lý

I have 5 years of management experience

So you see here

Năm means 5 and also means year

So tôi có 5 năm kinh nghiệp quản lý

The next component that is in your resume is

Trình độ học vấn

Or we can use

So trình độ học vấn literally means like academic level

And bằng cấp trứng thị means qualifications

So you can use either of them, it's fine

So in this component, you'll be listing like all the qualifications that you had

Bằng cấp trứng thị, trình độ học vấn

For example, if you have a bachelor degree in Vietnamese

We say bằng đại học

And if you want to say you have a master degree

We say bằng cao học

Or we can say bằng thạc sĩ

The next one after sharing your qualifications and work experience

It's also important to share your soft skills

In Vietnamese, we say

Means other skills

Or in Vietnamese, soft skills means

However, when using words in resume

We use

We don't really say

So let's talk about some skills

We have

Means like your office skills

If you are good at time management

It's also very valuable to add in your resume

We say

Time management

You can say to the recruiter

Tốt

Tôi có kỹ năng quản lý thời gian rất tốt

Means I have excellent time management skills

Also, if you're applying to a managerial position

So it's very important to mention your leadership, right?

Kỹ năng lãnh đạo

Kỹ năng lãnh đạo là một trong những kỹ năng quan trọng nhất của một người quản lý

Kỹ năng làm việc đội nhóm

Kỹ năng làm việc đội nhóm. Kỹ năng làm việc đội nhóm means team working or team working skill.

Kỹ năng làm việc đội nhóm rất cần thiết. Kỹ năng làm việc đội nhóm rất cần thiết.

Kỹ năng làm việc đội nhóm rất cần thiết. Team working skill is very important.

Kỹ năng làm việc đội nhóm rất cần thiết.

Right, last one. You also can share some of your hobbies or some of your interests, right?

And it also helps the recruiter know a little bit more about you or like how you spend your free time.

So in sentence or in Vietnamese, we say sờ thích.

sờ thích

sờ thích means hobbies or interests.

Right, we can share something like I love watching movies or I love traveling.

We can just write shortly in your resume like this.

du lịch

xem phim

du lịch

or xem phim like traveling and watching movies.

So it doesn't need to be too long, right?

Alright, now let's summarize a little bit. We need to list at least five components, five most important components.

The first one is thông tin cá nhân.

thông tin cá nhân

I'm not gonna translate anymore.

Right, next one is kinh nghiệp làm việc.

kinh nghiệp làm việc

Okay, and then what is that?

bằng cấp

trình độ học vấn

and next one

các kỹ năng khác

and last one

sờ thích

Alright, so I've just shared with you some components or some like main things,

main factors that we need to mention in your resume.

However, in Vietnamese nowadays we use English to write the resume a lot

and it's also like a sign of showing your English ability

and especially in like jobs or fields that require English.
