And in this video today, we're going to talk about a very interesting topic,
which is relationship.
What are some words, some terms that we can use when
being in a relationship with a Vietnamese?
And let's find out what they are.
Who's single here?
Raise your hand.
So if you're single, we can say
Thân, độc thân, okay?
So độc thân is simply being single.
So if you want to say you're not married yet, we can say
In sentence
So you see here that we don't use to be verb.
Next one, if you are getting to know someone in Vietnamese, we can say
Or another word that we can also use is
In sentence
They are getting to know each other.
Next one, we got
means in a relationship or dating in sentence
means how long have you guys been dating?
If you want to say to hang out together, we say
means you just simply hang out together, or you go out on a date, or you go out to have some fun together, just
In sentence
If you want to say you have feelings with someone, in Vietnamese we can say
Here means feelings, but you also can use
Here means love, but it doesn't quite mean love yet.
It's just like you have some feelings for someone.
In sentence
I also have some feelings for him or I also have some feelings with him.
So in Vietnamese means with.
You're sharing that you have something for someone and it's just not quite clear yet, something like that.
In sentence
That means Nam likes Phuong for a while.
The classic one, I love you in Vietnamese is
depends on who you are, you have to use a proper pronoun, remember that, okay?
Next one, if you are in a relationship and you say that I have a boyfriend, you can say
For example, I have a boyfriend
If you kind of want to say no to a girl as you are in a relationship already, you can say
This is what we usually use in Vietnamese when we want to say no to a girl.
Sorry, you're good, but I have a girlfriend.
If you're not ready for a relationship yet, we can say
I'm not ready for a relationship.
So in sentence
Now let's go fast.
Now if you want to say you commit to a relationship, we say
The funny thing is in Vietnam, we don't really use the word
a lot because it's not really a kind of our culture.
When we are in a relationship, we just say I love you and I love you back.
That is like a sign of having a committed relationship.
Now if you want to say that you're crazy in love with someone, we say
to love
At some point, you'll be fighting or you have some arguments, right?
So in Vietnamese, we say
means argue.
Another word that you can use is
We can also use
fight each other.
In sentence
means they've been fighting for a week.
Now after fighting, you'll be making up, you'll be patching up, so in Vietnamese, we say
means have you patched up with her?
So in Vietnamese, we say
She's been breaking up with her boyfriend for two years.
Long.
Sometimes you get back together after a breakup, right?
In Vietnamese, we say
means to get back to someone
If you want to say engage or to be engaged in Vietnamese, we say
and engagement is
But before that, it has to be a proposal, right?
So we say
means to propose, okay?
means to get married
If you want to say that I'm married, we say
is a wedding
and the verb marry is
is like an event and
a wedding
What else?
is a divorce, okay?
That's pretty much everything from getting to know each other to a divorce,
but we still can anytime, right?
