Today, I'm gonna share with you some exclamations that you can use to express your feelings.

And it's gonna be very very easy, trust me.

So, let's get started.

The first one or the number one, I think is the most common one in Vietnam, which means “oh my god”.

I think all foreigners living in Vietnam would know this because it's just so common and you can actually use it anytime.

This one you can use when you're surprised and you just want to just like, “oh my god”, okay?

And in Vietnamese, we say

Ôi giời ơi

okay?

But that is how you actually pronounce correctly and slowly.

But like, I mean, when it comes to the situation, then you would say

Ôi giời ơi

something like that, okay?

So, let's see where you can actually use it, okay?

For example, when you're so shocked or so surprised, you can actually just say

Ôi giời ơi

Alright, the second one, this one means, really, it's like, really, something like that, okay.

So, in Vietnamese, we say,

Thật á?

Okay, so thật has dấu nặng and á is dấu sắc.

Thật á?

And then when you come faster, you can say, Thật á?

Thật á?

So, for example, if your friend says:

Tôi vừa bị mất điện thoại.

That means, “I've just lost my phone.”

So, you can actually say

Tôi vừa bị mất điện thoại.

Thật á?

That one, that means, “eally?”

The next one

Cái gì?

Okay, that means “What?”

Cái gì?

Like that.

So, that is how you actually pronounce and like, speak that, okay.

Cái gì?

Means like, “What?”

Like, “What do you mean?”

Cái gì?

Something like that, okay.

Cái gì?

Another one for Cái gì?

We can use

Làm sao?

Làm sao? means like, “What happened? or “What?”

Something like that, okay.

Làm sao?

Another one if you want to say like, “oh my god” or just “oh my” or “oh dear.”

You can say

Ôi

Just ô and i.

Okay?

Ôi

Like that.

For exclamations, when you use them, you actually have to put feelings in it.

So, we don't really say like, ôi.

But we have to say, ôi.

Ôi

Something like that.

Another word for like, Ôi

Uầy

Okay? Is it difficult?

Uầy

Okay?

So, it's something like,

Uầy

It's the same with Ôi

Like, “oh my god” or “oh dear” or stuff like that.

Uầy, em kia xinh nhờ?

That means, “Oh my god, she's so cute.” or “She's so pretty.”

Uầy, em kia xinh nhờ?

Another one if you want to say like, “holy crap” or just like, “I'm screwed.”

You can say

Thôi xong

Thôi xong means like, “I'm done.”

Something like that.

Okay?

Ôi, thôi xong.

When you're at your office and you did something wrong and suddenly your boss knows that and

you can actually say

Thôi xong, sếp biết rồi.

That means, “Oh crap, he knows it.”

Ôi mẹ ơi.

Ôi mẹ ơi means like, you're calling your mom.

Mẹ means “mom”, right?

Ôi mẹ ơi. means like, you feel so shocked, so surprised or so terrified.

Ôi mẹ ơi.

For example, when you almost get an accident.

Ôi mẹ ơi.

Another one when you eat something very delicious and you want to show that it's super super

yummy.

You can actually say

Yum yum.

And also you can say

Ngon

Ngon means “delicious” or “it's so good.”

Or you can just say

Ngon ngon

Another one, this one is also very common.

When you want to say something, “are you crazy?” or “are you out of your mind?” or “are you kidding me?”

You can say

Điên à?

Ok?

This one is completely polite but it's very casual so you can just use with like friends

or families or your cousins or your siblings, stuff like that.

Điên à?

“Are you crazy?”

Điên à?

Another one you can use when you're drinking or when you're partying with your friends

and when you want to say cheers and you can say

Yô

Okay?

Yô is like, it's pretty [inaudible]

This one we use when you're in the south of Vietnam like:

Yô

But when you want to say like in a northern accent, we say

Lên

Lên means like “cheers” or like how to say it's like, it means “up”.

Lên means “up”.

So when we go drinking and when we want to say like “cheers” in Vietnamese or in the north

of Vietnam usually we would say, lên lên lên lên lên lên lên.

Lên means like “bring your cups”, okay?

Or you can say like

Một, hai, ba yô.

Something like that.

Một, hai, ba yô.

Một, hai, ba means “one, two, three”, right?

Một, hai, ba lên.

Another one if you want to say like “bravo” in Vietnamese we can say

Hoan hô

Or you can actually use this one with kids, okay?

So if they've done something well and you want to cheer them up then you can say

Hoan hô

If someone is very intelligent or smart or brilliant that you want to just show your

expression you can say

Thông minh

Thông minh, okay?

Means “brilliant”.

Thông minh

Okay, last one if you want to just say like “fantastic” or “great” you can say

Tuyệt vời

Tuyệt vời, okay?

Tuyệt vời means “great” or “fantastic”.

Tuyệt vời

Alright, so it depends on the situation.

We can use like different ways or different words.
