In today’s lesson, we’ll introduce some more useful phrases for hotels and accommodations. The first phrase is "What time is checkout?" in Vietnamese is Mấy giờ trả phòng?

Let’s break this down by syllable: Mấy giờ trả phòng?
Let’s hear it again, Mấy giờ trả phòng?
The first words mấy giờ, mấy giờ mean "what time."

Mấy is said in the rising tone and giờ falls gradually.

This is followed by trả phòng, trả phòng, which is the basic equivalent of "check out."

There will always be times when you need more of certain things. Let’s try towels.
In Vietnamese, you can ask for more towels by saying Cho tôi thêm khăn mặt.

The only thing that changes is the thing that you are looking for. In this case it's khăn mặt, which means "towel."
Let’s break down this word again: khăn mặt.

So, to ask if there’s a “toothbrush” bàn chải răng, bàn chải răng; you would say - Cho tôi thêm.
So to ask for another toothbrush, you would say - Cho tôi một bàn chải đánh răng, cho tôi một bàn chải đánh răng.
“Toothpaste” in Vietnamese is kem đánh răng.

You can use this phrase, mấy giờ to ask various questions. For example: “What time does the movie start?”
To ask for more of certain things, Cho tôi thêm.

You can use this phrase not only in hotels, but also in restaurants. For example, if you wanted more rice, you can say - Cho tôi thêm cơm.
