| Today, we’ll cover getting out of the restaurant. First, you may have to get a hold of the staff. Again, you can accomplish this by saying Xin lỗi which means “Excuse me” or to call a waiter or waitress, người hầu bàn. |

| Once you’re finished with your meal, you can ask for the check. In Vietnamese, one way to say "Check please" is Xin tính tiền. |

| The first word, xin, has been covered a few times before so this should be a review. It means “please” and is said with no tone. |

| This is followed by tính. |

| Tính is said in the rising tone and means “calculate.” |

| This phrase ends with the word, tiến. |

| Tiến is said in the falling tone. It means “money.” |
| So let’s practice the entire phrase again, Xin tính tiền. |

| Now, you’d like to tell them how good the food is or if you’re eating with someone and want to let them know how good you feel the food is, you can say Ngon quá! |

| This phrase literally means “very delicious.” |
| If a dish is good, but not quite fantastic, you can drop the word quá and just say Ngon. |

| In Vietnam, it’s not customary to tip. Sometimes, they will bring the bill to your table or you will have to pay at the cash register. The total on the receipt is what you have to pay. So usually, there won’t be any hidden charges. |
