Everything you should know about Cụng.

Cụng is a very simple word, right?

It means also or true.

But in this lesson today, I'm going to give you a little bit more knowledge

so that you know how to use Cụng widely in some other sentences and situations as well.

Let's talk about the most common meaning first, which is to or also.

So in this situation, Cụng actually just means me too.

For example,

or me neither.

So do I or so can I, stuff like that.

You don't have to show agreement in many different ways in English.

But instead, we just use

just to say that me too.

Another example,

My mom also enjoys traveling.

I also like motorcycles.

I also like to drive a big car.

like right after the noun or the word I to indicate a person or someone, right?

So in this situation, Cụng here is to emphasize the subject.

Okay, so in sentence,

that means every student knows that professor.

Let's take a look at the second example.

So here you see that bố mẹ nào is the form of the word Cụng.

And Cụng here is to emphasize bố mẹ nào, okay?

Emphasize the subject.

One more example.

I here is to indicate everyone or anyone.

Everyone likes this movie.

I also like to go swimming in summer.

It means everyone likes to go swimming in summer.

That is the first purpose or usage of the word Cụng is to emphasize the subject of the sentence, right?

And the second one, the second situation is to emphasize the object of the sentence, okay?

But in Vietnamese, we change the sentence structure a little bit.

To emphasize the object, we use

Show nào anh ấy cũng xem.

That means he watches every show.

So in this situation in Vietnamese, we don't say show actually.

We say xô as a Vietnamese accent.

Xô nào anh ấy cũng xem.

That means he watches every show.

Xô nào anh ấy cũng xem.

Ai cô ấy cũng quen.

That means she knows everyone.

Ai, ai here is like everyone, anyone.

Cô ấy, she, cũng quen knows.

Ai cô ấy cũng quen.

And the last sentence, the last example.

Ví dụ cuối cùng.

Ai anh ấy cũng nhớ tên.

That means he knows everyone's name.

Ai anh ấy cũng nhớ tên.

Now the last usage of Cũng is to emphasize the adverb of time.

And in this situation, the formula will also be different.

Now let's take a look at it closely and then we will make some examples.

Ngày nào tôi cũng chạy bộ.

I run every day.

Năm nào tôi cũng đi du lịch.

That means I travel every year.

Năm nào tôi cũng đi du lịch.

Another way to use Cũng in this situation is to complain someone for doing something continuously.

Ví dụ nhá.

Bao giờ anh ấy cũng đến muộn.

That means he's always late.

Using the same structure, we can use like, for example,

Bao giờ cô ấy cũng phản nạn về việc tôi về muộn.

Every time, cô ấy cũng phản nạn, she's always complaining

Về việc tôi về muộn because I go home late or because I come back home late.

Bao giờ cô ấy cũng phản nạn về việc tôi về muộn.
