which is rất, lắm, quá and how to use them in sentences.
My name is Linh, I'm your host today and keep watching.
How to use adverbs with adjectives?
First, let's see how we use them with adjectives, which is tính từ.
How to use adverbs with adjectives?
So actually, you can put rất before any adjectives.
For example, rất đẹp, rất nóng, rất lạnh, rất giờ, rất ngon, etc.
So basically, just put rất before tính từ, okay?
Now let's take a look at some examples.
Chiếc áo này rất đẹp.
This shirt is very beautiful.
rất means very.
Chiếc áo này rất đẹp.
Báo cáo hôm nay rất tốt.
The report today is very good.
Bữa tối hôm nay rất ngon.
Dinner today is very delicious or very good.
Bữa tối hôm nay rất ngon.
Trời hôm nay rất nóng.
It's very hot today or the weather today is very hot.
So remember, rất and tính từ, okay?
Now let's talk about lắm.
For lắm, we don't use before the adjective, but we use after the adjective.
For example, đẹp lắm, nóng lắm, lạnh lắm, xấu lắm, ngon lắm, okay?
Lắm also means very or like really, but we don't put before the adjective, we put it after the adjective, okay?
Now let's take a look at some examples.
Mùa đông ở Hà Nội lạnh lắm.
The weather in Hà Nội is very cold.
Mùa đông ở Hà Nội lạnh lắm.
Phòng khách nhà tôi rộng lắm.
My living room is very large.
Đề thi năm nay khó lắm.
So when you speak fast, we will not say,
Đề thi năm nay khó lắm.
It doesn't sound very natural, but instead we say,
Đề thi năm nay khó lắm.
So we raise the tone a little bit, because lắm is at the end of the sentence.
Đề thi năm nay khó lắm.
The test this year is very difficult.
Đi du lịch theo tour mệt lắm.
Traveling by tour is very tiring.
So when we speak fast, we say,
Đi du lịch theo tour mệt lắm.
Now the last one is quá.
So similarly to lắm, we will put quá after the adjective, okay?
So tính từ and quá, for example,
Nóng quá, lạnh quá, mát quá, ngon quá, etc.
Now let's take a look at some sentences, okay?
View ở đây đẹp quá.
The view here is so amazing.
So quá here means like very or so amazing.
Bộ phim này thú vị quá.
Bộ phim này thú vị quá.
So when we speak faster,
Bộ phim này thú vị quá.
This movie is so interesting.
Người dân tộc thiểu số nghèo quá.
Người dân tộc thiểu số nghèo quá.
Ethnic minorities are so poor.
Trên thế giới nhiều người giàu quá.
There are so many rich people in the world.
Dầu quá.
Phòng hộp này nhỏ quá.
This meeting room is so small.
Now there is another meaning of quá,
which is like too much, something is too much.
So we will use quá in this situation.
It's not similar to the quá that we just talked earlier, okay?
In this situation, I'm gonna give you some examples to make it clearer.
So here if you use quá before the adjective,
it means too much, something.
For example,
quá xấu means too ugly.
quá tốt means too good.
quá đắt means too expensive.
quá dễ means too cheap.
So in sentence,
Chiếc áo này quá đắt.
This shirt is so expensive or it's too expensive.
Chiếc áo này quá đắt.
Bộ vét này quá chặt, không đẹp.
This suit is too tight or too small.
It's not beautiful, it's not pretty.
Bộ vét này quá chặt, không đẹp.
Món ăn này quá dẻ.
This dish is too cheap.
So it's like, it makes me down whether it's good or not.
Món ăn này quá dẻ.
We just talked about rất lắm quá and tính từ, right?
Now let's talk about rất lắm quá and verb.
Let's talk about rất with verb.
In this situation, rất will stand before the verb.
For example,
Tôi rất thích chiếc áo này.
On the other hand, if you want to use lắm, you have to put lắm after the verb.
Thích lắm.
Tôi thích món ăn này lắm.
I really like this dish.
Tôi ghét anh ta lắm.
I really hate him.
In the negative form of the verb, we say
Tôi không thích món này lắm.
Tôi không nhớ lắm.
Now last one, let's talk about quá.
So for quá, we also use quá at the end of the sentence or after the verb.
Now let's take a look at some examples.
Tôi làm phiền anh quá.
