We've had video about June, July, and today is going to be August.

And I'm so excited to share with you a few dishes, places to visit,

and also holidays in August. So let's get started.

How many days are there in the month?

Remember that last time we learned that July has 31 days and also August has 31 days, right?

I don't know if you know this trick, but to remember how many days are there in the month,

we usually use this one. So this is like 31 days. So this is January 31 days.

And this is a little bit lower, right? So February 28 or 29 days.

This one is March 31 days. This one is April 30 days.

May 31 days. June 30 days. July 31 days.

And again, August. So August also has 31 days.

And September 30 days. October 31 days.

November 30 and December 31. Let me know if it's right.

Also, August has 31 days. So in Vietnamese, we say

August is in summer in a year.

So the best activity to do in August in Vietnam is go hiking. In Vietnamese, we can say

August is the best time of the year to go hiking because it's not in the raining season anymore and it's not too hot.

It's like pretty much dry season. So it's the best time to go hiking.

The climate is suitable, right? Okay, next one. Let's talk about one more thing.

Alright, so I'm going to put the translation here.

Right, so August is a really good time to visit Ha Giang or Mu Canh Chai because you see a lot of

ripe golden terrace fields. It's really, really, really amazing to watch. And trust me, it's like

some of the very good things that you must see in Vietnam. It's also very unique because

farmers can can plant rice on fields like that because it looks like stairs,

right? So it's really hard to do farming like that but it's really amazing you can do so.

It's good or it's suitable to travel or to visit Sapa in August because the weather

this time is not too hot and it's no thunderstorms or it's no rains. I once visited Sapa in August,

September and it was a really, really good time. During the day it's not too hot, it's pretty cool.

It's like autumn in Hanoi and at night it's a little bit cold so it's really nice to sleep and

eat and enjoy the weather in Sapa. So traveling to Sapa in August, okay? So we have Ha Giang,

Mu Canh Chai and Sapa already. Next one.

That means you should visit Phong Nha Kẻ Bàng in August because it's dry season in Quảng Bình

and the climate or the weather or the temperature in the cave is really comfortable.

Next one, one of the biggest holidays of the year and it happens in August which is

Ngày Cách Mạng tháng 8.

That means the August Revolution, 19th August.

This is one of the biggest holidays of Vietnam history because the August Revolution

succeeded in Hanoi in 1945 and it connects to one of the holidays in September

which is the Independence Day that I'm going to introduce to you in the next video.

So remember that in August we have the big big big big big big holiday which is

Ngày Cách Mạng tháng 8.

Right, let's talk a little bit about the August in lunar month which is

Tháng Tám Âm Lịch.

The biggest holiday for children in Vietnam

Dầm Trung Thu

So you can either say Dầm or Dầm.

It should be Dầm Trung Thu

but that's the R sound so we should say Rầm

but we don't really pronounce that. It's not very natural.

So Dầm Trung Thu

Dầm Trung Thu is on 15th August lunar calendar.

So this is Full Moon Festival and it's a mid-autumn festival

and this is very big for not only children but also Vietnamese people, Vietnamese families.

On this day usually adults will take the kids out for meals.

Also if some families don't want to go out they can prepare a small party for the kids

and usually there will be bọng

What else?

Hoa quả

and bưởi

and we have đèn ông sao

What else?

A lot of traditional toys or games such as tò he

So those are things that we prepare for the kids so that they can enjoy the party at home

and they can actually also invite their friends as well or their classmates.

Mid-autumn is children's festival.

Trung Thu is on 15th August lunar calendar.

Next one, a very special dish for a mid-autumn festival which is

Bánh nướng bánh dẻo

Bánh nướng bánh dẻo are two types of bánh đặc trưng for Trung Thu.

Bánh nướng bánh dẻo là hai loại bánh đặc trưng cho Trung Thu.

Bánh nướng bánh dẻo are the two typical cakes for mid-autumn.

Bánh nướng bánh dẻo là hai loại bánh đặc trưng cho Trung Thu.
