How many people do you have?
How many people do you have?
I go with two people
She goes with two people
She goes with two people
How many people do you have?
How many people do you have?
Have you set your table yet?
Have you set your table yet?
Have you set your table yet?
Have you set your table yet?
Have you set your table yet?
Have you set your table yet?
Have you set your table yet?
Have you set your table yet?
Do you have?
Do you have any vegetables?
Do you have any vegetables?
Do you have any flowers?
So basically this question literally means like do you have anything, but it means like
can I have something.
Another example would be
Em có bia Hà Nội không?
Bia Hà Nội is very famous in Vietnam.
Do you have 2 beers?
Em có bia Hà Nội không?
So remember the structure
Em có
And then the thing that you want
And then không
Do you have anything?
Or I would like something.
Now next one, if you want to be more specific, if you want to order something, then please use this structure.
It's very easy.
Cho anh
Cho tôi
Cho anh
And then the number of the dishes or the portion or the quantity
And then the name of the dish
The name of the dish
And then the last one is maybe the size, so that is how you order in Vietnam.
For example
Cho anh một bát phở bò nhỏ
Cho anh means like give me
Cho anh một quantity
Bát phở bò is like beef phở
Bát phở bò nhỏ is the size
Cho anh một bát phở bò nhỏ
But we don't say like can I have a small bowl of phở
But we have phở
Small
So it's opposite to English
Cho anh một bát phở bò nhỏ
Now let's use this structure for another example
Cho chị một cốc trà đá
Trà đá means like can I have one iced tea please
Cho chị một cốc trà đá
Or give me an iced tea please
Cho chị một cốc trà đá
Another example would be
Cho chị hai cơm rang nhỏ
means like give me two fried rice
Two small fried rice
Cho chị hai cơm rang nhỏ
Alright so one more time
Cho tôi or cho anh or cho chị
And then the number, the quantity
And then the dish
And then the size
Now if you want to ask the price of something
Then you can just simply say
Món này bao nhiêu tiền?
Món này bao nhiêu tiền?
Món này bao nhiêu tiền?
So it's grammatically correct
And if you want to make it very short
And convenient and most natural
Then we can just say bao nhiêu
Bao nhiêu
Bao nhiêu
But sometimes only bao nhiêu is not very polite
And because it's too short right
So bao nhiêu
Bao nhiêu hả em?
It's okay, bao nhiêu hả em?
It's like hey how much is it?
Bao nhiêu hả em?
Now if you want to ask if this dish
Is good for two people
Or you don't know
Whether this dish is good for like how many people
Then you can simply ask a question
Món này cho mấy người ăn?
Món này cho mấy người ăn?
Món này cho mấy người ăn?
Means like how many people is this dish good for?
Món này cho mấy người ăn?
And they will say like
Two people, three people
Or just a single dish
Món gì nổi tiếng nhất ở đây?
Also if you want to ask
What dish or which dish
Is most famous or most popular in this restaurant
We have a sentence for that
Món gì nổi tiếng nhất ở đây?
Món gì nổi tiếng nhất ở đây?
Món gì means which dish
Nổi tiếng means famous
Nhất most famous
Ở đây means here
So it's like what is the most famous dish here?
Món gì nổi tiếng nhất ở đây?
Also if you want to use nổi tiếng
Because it's very like
It sounds very big, right?
Nổi tiếng means famous
And another word
Another more natural word that you can use is
Đắt hàng
Đắt hàng
This is very casual
This word is very casual and it's informal
Món gì đắt hàng nhất ở đây?
Món gì đắt hàng nhất ở đây?
That means like what is the best seller here?
Or what is the most favorite dish here?
Món gì đắt hàng nhất ở đây?
What ingredients do you not eat?
Now if you don't want any specific kind of ingredients
You can use this sentence
Anh không ăn
Anh or tôi or chị
Anh không ăn
Anh không ăn means I don't eat something
And then you add the ingredients or the flavor that you don't want
For example
Anh không ăn ớt
Anh không ăn ớt
Anh không ăn ớt
Anh không ăn ớt
Anh không ăn ớt means I don't eat chili or no spicy please
Anh không ăn ớt
Or if you don't eat
Mắm tôm
Mắm tôm
Mắm tôm is like the number one famous thing
Ingredients in Vietnam
Mắm tôm is the shrimp paste
If you don't eat that
If you can't stand the smell
And you're not familiar with the flavor
You can say
Anh không ăn mắm tôm
Anh không ăn mắm tôm
Anh không ăn mắm tôm means I don't eat shrimp paste
I don't eat mắm tôm
But please try
Also a lot of people cannot eat spring onion
For example in phở
Phở
You know right
So some people can't eat that
So you can say
Anh không ăn hành
Anh không ăn hành
Anh không ăn hành
Now after eating
So those are like almost everything that you can use just to order what you want
And after eating
If you want to pay the bill
Then you can say
Em ơi tính tiền
Em ơi tính tiền
Ok so that is how we call the waiters in Vietnam
Em ơi em ơi tính tiền
Tính tiền tính tiền
Or if they can't hear you
Just like give them a sign
Em ơi tính tiền
Em ơi tính tiền
That means can I pay please or check please
Or can I have the bill please
Em ơi tính tiền
Ok
For example most of the restaurants in Vietnam are like
Some very casual restaurants
That you
Mostly you will have to pay by cash
But nowadays there are more like big restaurants
And they also use some technology
So you can ask
If you want to pay by card
You can ask
That means can I pay by credit card
But if you cannot make a long sentence
You can just say
Chả thẻ means credit card
And I would like to notice you that
In Vietnamese if you just speak short sentences or words like that
It doesn't sound so respectful
But since you are foreigners so we understand
But if local people speaking together like that
That is not very polite
So if you can't make the full sentence
Like anh chả thẻ được không
Then you can say
Chả thẻ
With a very like
Respectful gesture
So they would understand you
Anh chả thẻ được không
Alright last one
If you are happy with the food
If you are happy with the service
And the restaurant
You can just
If you want to give them some tips
Then you can say
Không cần trả lại
For example if your bill is like
220
Việt Nam Đông
220,000 Việt Nam Đông
And you want to give them like 250
And you don't need change
Then you can say
Không cần trả lại
Không cần trả lại
Không cần trả lại
Means like no change needed
So that is a very nice way to say that
The rest is yours or
That's okay
So that would also bring some
Joy and happiness to the waiters as well
So không cần trả lại
Alright that's it for today
