Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Hoang Anh: There is a very common proverb in Vietnamese: Ghét của nào trời trao của ấy. It literally means “you'll be given what you hate.” This proverb means if you hate something too much, you are more likely to end up with it. It is used very frequently in daily conversation, to tease or to mock someone who always reacts strongly to something or someone they hate.

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
