Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Hoang Anh: Vietnamese people aren’t used to touching when meeting each other... so I don’t recommend kissing or hugging. BUT business people and male friends do shake hands. When meeting a Vietnamese person for the first time, just introducing yourself with a smile is the best way to go.

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Hoang Anh: Tạm biệt.

Hi Becky,

Most probably there are three dots in the corner and if you click on that, you'll have the Download option popping up, although this might differ by browser and device type and browser settings. If you still don't find it, please reach out to us at contactus@VietnamesePod101.com with a screenshot showing the problem.

Kind regards,

Levente

Hi Dom,

Well done. It's a very good sentence.

However, I believe that diacritics are very important in Vietnamese. So here is the way to set up the Vietnamese keyboard on your PC.

For Window users, you just need to open Language settings, under Preferred languages you can add Vietnamese. Then you can switch between different languages when using.

For Mac users: From the Apple menu > select System Preferences > Click on International > In the International window, click on the Input Menu tab > In the Input Menu tab, select Vietnamese UniKey > Underneath Vietnamese UniKey, select the input method you want to use.

Hope that it could help.

Cheers,

Chi

Xin chào Dreamson,

The answer on how to type on a keyboard differs whether you are a Windows or a Mac user but generally speaking, you have two main options. One is to set up a virtual keyboard on your computer. For example on Windows, you can easily do this by opening your Language settings, and under Preferred languages adding the language(s) you want to type in. After that, your keyboard can be switched between the layouts of your home country and that of the language you are learning. This is an easy and convenient solution, however its main disadvantage is that you will need to memorize where the different characters are located.

The second option is to use an on-screen keyboard. This is a bit harder, since you will need to click on the buttons one by one using your computer mouse. These on-screen keyboards come in two main forms: either as an app that you can download on your computer, or as a website.

Hope I could be of help! If you need further technical assistance, please send us an email to contactus@VietnamesePod101.com so that our technical team can help you out!

Levente
